One of the major issues that is addressed in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (HR 3590) is the ability for insurance companies to deny coverage based on medical history or what is more commonly called “pre-existing conditions”. As an insurance agent, I must tell you that having a client that is unable to obtain major medical health insurance coverage for a pre-existing condition or not at all due to a pre-existing condition is the hardest part of my job. It is heart-breaking and aggravating and is the most broken part of our current system for obtaining quality health insurance. Having said that, it is important to note that unless you are a child, you will not be guaranteed the ability to obtain health insurance without consideration of your past medical history until 2014.
I know that these changes are necessary and that some feel that they should be in place before the end of the year. There are many issues that surround this change including the cost sharing that most likely will affect those that are healthy and currently pay a pretty high price for health insurance right now. The quick fix in the interim is to make available high risk pools for those that have been uninsured for at least 6 months. These high risk pool health plans are scheduled to be available on July 1st, 2010

This has to be one of the best articles I’ve read on this subject so far. You are obviously intelligent, but you really know how to speak to readers. Overall, I agree with your information.
I like to see writers express themselves so well. This writer apparently has a good grasp not only on the topic at hand, but on how to keep the content clear and easy to understand.
